There was a bit of a controversy online before the start of the PPA Carvana Desert Ridge Open men’s singles play this morning. When the seeding was first announced, J.W. Johnson was nowhere to be found in the top 9. The initial seeding was yanked and redone, with Johnson moved to #4 and 19-year-old Dylan Frazier down at #16.
Never mind all the pre-game sound and fury. Frazier stunned the crowd in his second match of the day with a triumph (11-6, 12-10) over #1 Ben Johns, who had a first-round bye thanks to his seeding.

At the moment, the PPA Tour’s YouTube channel doesn’t have the stream up on the channel, but you can watch the upset on the Facebook page here — forward to about 13:40 in.
We’ll update with next-round results as they come in.
