Drills, drills, drills
Practice makes permanent.

Once you master the basics of pickleball, it’s tempting to spend all of your time in rec games with old friends and new ones. (Raise your hands if you can’t say no to every coveted text you receive inviting you to play!) But if your goal is to improve and advance in skill level, you won’t get there without drilling–and spending a considerable amount of time doing it. If you’re lucky, you can find a partner who is as passionate as you about the sport and as willing to devote the time drilling. The Pickleball Journey channel features two young dudes who have uploaded some excellent two-person reflex and dinking drills.

Or if you’re lucky enough, you can rent or buy a pickleball training machine, like the Lobster or Pickleball Tutor.
