Someone out there is apparently perfecting his or her photoshop skills on pickleball pros Lindsey and Riley Newman…and the Newmans are not happy. On Facebook, they note that “This isn’t the first time something like this has happened to us. We wanted to let you all know that before buying or signing up for something with our names/ images linked to it- to make sure it is legit. If something doesn’t look or seem right, feel free to reach out to us and we will let you know.”
Here’s the fake pic:

As anyone who pays even an iota of attention to pro pickleball knows, the Newmans exclusively rep Selkirk paddles and have their own signature line.
Here’s the original, undoctored photo from the 2019 USOpen posted on Selkirk’s Instagram account:

Eddie and Webby, the pickleball podcasters extraordinaire, discuss the controversy here — and add a little levity with their own preferred photoshop job. It’s worth noting that Hudef says it had nothing to do with the phony photos. If any of our fellow Dinkheads hears about the identity of the prankster(s), let us know.
As always with content on the Internet: Distrust…and VERIFY!

My wife and I were the whistle blowers on this whole debacle. We noticed it on an Amazon.com suggestion and clicked on it. It lead us directly to the Hudef home page. We’re good friends with the Newmans so we immediately let them know about it. As soon as this came to light, the picture was removed from the Hudef homepage and they’ve denied it ever being there. Super shady!
Amazing info.Very shady indeed. Glad you and your wife had eagle eyes and called out the hoax. Thanks for filling us Dinkheads in, Alex!
