Hey men, do any of you use a cup to protect your valuables?

I've never experienced a direct hit, but I've seen a few. It does not look fun. I've heard that in some sports like baseball, a direct hit can put you in the hospital. On the other hand, wearing a cup could hinder my mobility. Is it worth a try?

I usually bring a small equipment bag and put my phone and car keys in it.  I don't think I could fit it all in a cup.

Not many baseball players wear cups any more (aside from catchers). I remember them not being very comfortable and even distracting.

I don't, and do not see a need to do so. That would have to be a mishit by a less-skilled player. Better players will be hitting drives at your feet. Lesser-skilled players may hit the ball hard, but generally it is not below waist level.

HOWEVER - I always wear my safety-rated glasses. I've only been hit near the eye once on a shot from the opposing side (I couldn't avoid it), but I have been hit in the glasses many times on balls that deflected off the edge of a partner's paddle. A little discomfort I can tolerate - loosing vision in one eye - ABSOLUTELY NOT.
